We have our own sewing machine service department including two full time sewing machine service techs with a combined experience totalling over 50 years. Some stores contract out all of their repairs to a third party independent contractor. No matter how old your machine is, we can service it. We are an authorized warranty service center for both Singer and Babylock sewing machines. We have the largest parts inventory, both new and used, in the St. Louis metro area. Most repairs can be done in just a few days. We strive to complete you repair as quickly as possible although we concentrate on quality not quantity.
How much will it cost to get my sewing machine repaired?
Well, that depends; it is hard to say without seeing it first. Even though you may be able to tell us what the symptoms are, it is hard to tell if parts will be required or if it is just an adjustment that needs to be made. We give free estimates when you bring your product into the store.
How long will it take to get my sewing machine fixed?
That depends on a number of factors. Most of the time a week or less if we don’t have to order parts. If we have to order parts it could take up to two weeks. We stock a lot of parts, but we can’t stock every part for every sewing machine brand. Also the time of the year makes a difference. For sewing machines, the summer months are the slowest and it might take only a day or two. In the fall, after school starts, women tend to do more sewing so it can get really busy. We always try to get your repair done as quickly as possible and still do quality work. Our service techs always put quality over quantity.
Is my sewing machine worth repairing or should I just buy a new one?
Most sewing machines are worth repairing if they don’t have serious problems. It is always best to bring it in and get a professional opinion. For example, I have seen people throw away perfectly good sewing machines that a $3.00 part could have solved their problem. Also take into consideration that older sewing machines are better quality than their counterparts today. It’s not that you can’t buy a good quality product today; it’s just that you can’t buy it for the same amount of money it will cost you to fix the old one in many cases.
